Fethiye-Boncuklu Bay
Welcome on board CHEERS at Fethiye Harbour at 16:00, once the harbour master registration process is complete we head off to Boncuklu Bay for swimming, relaxing, dinner and your first night onboard.
Soğuksu Bay-Gemiler Bay
Heading off from Boncuklu Bay early morning at 06:30 we move to Soğuksu bay for breakfast and swimming. After breakfast there is a 40 minute light hiking trail to the ancient city of Kayaköy, an old Greek village with origins in the 14th century. Here you will have some free time to wander the streets and stop for a tea in this preserved village, before meeting up to head back to the boat for lunch.
We move to Gemiler Bay for the afternoon and evening, here you have the option to explore the Byzantine ruins of five churches built between the fourth and sixth centuries AD on Gemiler island, along with a 350 metre processional walkway. Other remains from the same period include around forty other ecclesiastical buildings and over fifty Christian tombs. Gemiler Bay is a picturesque spot for relaxing and watching the sunset while we prepare dinner for you.
Kaş Town and Harbaour
Leaving Gemiler Island early morning at 05:30 am we cruise down the coast, stopping for breakfast in the blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea before anchoring in the harbour of Kaş where you will have some free time for sight-seeing and shopping. Also ın Kaş there are some archaeological ruins here, Lycian tombs and a Hellenistic theatre with stunning views over the sea looking towards the Greek island of Meis. We move to a bay for sunset and evening dinner onboard before sleeping on deck under the stars or head into your cabin for a good night’s rest
Aperlai
Our morning walk starts from Aperlia which is a Lycian city which was founded in the 4th millennium BC to Kizlar Bay. The Roman city walls of Aperlai, with their towers placed at strategic intervals, began at the coast, and their remains may be seen today. After lunch on the boat and swim time you have the opportunity to do a longer trail, part of the Lycian way to Üçağız village
Kekova-Kaleköy-Üçağız
After our breakfast in the morning, our Lycia way walking route is from Üçagız to Kaleköy. Kaleköy is an ancient city belonging to the Lycian period from the 4th century BC, which is of great importance in the region with its archeological ruins. After the walk, sightseeing around Simena castle and lunch we move to Gökkaya Bay for dinner and our overnight stay. Make sure to take some time for stargazing here, Gökkaya has very little light pollution showing very clear starry nights.
Kekova-Kalkan
After having breakfast in Gökkaya Bay, we go to the Sunken City on the northern side of Kekova Island. Here you will see the partly sunken ruins of Dolchiste/Dolikisthe, an ancient town which was destroyed by an earthquake during the 2nd century. After completing our tour here, we continue our journey towards Kalkan where you will have free time for 2 hours before returning to the boat for sunset, evening meal and our overnight stay.
Butterfly Valley-Ölüdeniz-Fethiye
We leave early morning to head to Butterfly Valley for breakfast, Butterfly Valley is not in a sheltered area so if the weather is calm, we can anchor for 2 hours to allow you to hike up the picturesque natural gorge in Butterfly Valley. We will then continue our journey to Ölüdeniz and continue onto Fethiye harbor later in the day. It is optional to stay in the harbor for the night or stay out in a small bay returning early for breakfast into Fethiye.
Fethiye
After a final breakfast on the boat we will say goodbye to you all at 9 am with a lot of new beautiful memories of a great trip onboard Cheers.
